2026 GMC Canyon

2026 GMC Canyon for Sale at Bob Moore GMC in Oklahoma City

For our money, the GMC Canyon is the most fun pickup truck on the road. It’s a mid-size truck, so it will never be the biggest or strongest, but the Canyon uses its size as its strength. The GMC truck is at its best when running trails, taking full advantage of its lighter size and athletic ethos. It’s easy to maneuver in tight spots and has options for all sorts of extra gear, making it a champ when mudding, rock crawling or camping. While smaller than the Sierra class, the Canyon is still capable of handling your day-to-day work, with a towing capacity that’s enough to haul most mid-size boats out to the lake for the weekend. As the Canyon enters a new production cycle for 2026, it introduces several options, allowing you to spec your truck to the max. A factory lift kit is now available on the AT4X trim, adding Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers to the off-road suspension. The new Nightfall Packages also offer a stealth look, adding black badging across the Canyon. All told, the Canyon remains one of the most fun pickup trucks you’ll find out there. If you’re interested in a new GMC truck, visit Bob Moore Buick GMC to get started today.

New GMC Canyon Towing Capacity and Performance

Every Canyon uses a 2.7-liter inline-four cylinder engine, which delivers 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but we’d tell you four-wheel drive is probably best for most. Power to all four wheels helps deliver more power and torque than the V-6 powertrains found in the competition. The Canyon is capable of towing up to 7,700 lbs when properly equipped, which should be plenty for most boats, trailers, and attachments. It supports a max payload of 1,570 lbs. Trucks are rarely fuel-efficient these days, and the Canyon is no exception, getting about 19 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. For more info on the Canyon’s ability, visit our OKC GMC dealership.

2026 GMC Canyon Trim Levels

Every Canyon comes in the same basic configuration, with a four-door cab that pairs with a 5.5-foot bed. You’ll find the Canyon in the following four trim levels for 2026:

Trim Level:  MSRP:
2026 GMC Canyon Elevation $38,900
2026 GMC Canyon AT4 $45,400
2026 GMC Canyon AT4X $57,200
2026 GMC Canyon Denali $53,000

The Canyon Elevation offers an entry point to ownership under $40,000, offering a ProGrade trailering system, wireless smartphone connections, and an off-road performance display. If off-roading is your aim, we’d steer you to either the AT4 or AT4X, both of which come with extra features like Advanced Hill Descent Control, a factory-installed, two-inch lift kit, automatic locking rear differentials, and some extra performance and luxury features on the AT4X. Of course, the Denali is the most luxurious, offering tons of premium amenities and materials like wood trim, perforated leather seats, and a Surround Vision camera system.

GMC Canyon Tech Features

Every Canyon gets an 11.3-inch digital infotainment center in the middle of the dashboard, with a digital gauge cluster that sits to its left. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard across the lineup. If you plan on towing, features like Hitch View and Hitch Guidance help make finding your tongue easy, available on all four trim levels. The 360-camera system is standard on upper models, but it can be added to any model for extra visibility. As you probably expect from a modern truck in 2026, the Canyon comes loaded with a wide range of safety features, including automated emergency braking, lane keeping, and lane departure warnings.
