GMC debuted the Sierra EV in 2024 to widespread acclaim, offering an all-electric pickup truck that packed considerable power and range into the familiar nameplate. 2026 GMC Elevation Battery and Towing Capacity

GMC is introducing a new battery to complement the new GMC EV Elevation. The Elevation comes with the new “Standard Range” battery, while the previous two batteries are being rebranded to the “Extended Range” and “Max Range” respectively. The smaller battery helps the Elevation achieve its lower price point, but you can opt for the Extended Range option if desired. We are still awaiting information on the size, charging expectations, and range of the new battery. However, the Extended Range battery from the last production cycle remains unchanged, offering 390 miles of range. 

Even as a starting-level EV truck, the GMC Elevation boasts plenty of power, getting 645 horsepower and a 0 to 60 time hovering around 4.0 seconds. The Elevation doesn’t sacrifice towing power for speed, though, as it can tow up to 12,500 lbs in its strongest configuration. 

2026 GMC Sierra EV Elevation Features and Technology

While the most affordable of GMC’s EV trucks, the Sierra Elevation, is still a top-shelf truck, and both the design and cabin will remind you of that every time you hop in the cab. The center of the cabin is highlighted by a 16.8-inch diagonal infotainment system with Google built-in, while the interior adopts the “After Dark” package. It also features an eTrunk with a power-operated hood in place of an engine, with a MultiPro Tailgate and optional MidGate in the rear. Available features include Super Cruise Hands Free driving, a 7.2kW Energy Transfer off-boarding power system, and 18-inch gloss black wheels.
