GMC has started releasing details on the next-generation GMC Sierra, which is a big deal around here! The new GMC truck is set to be the most advanced, luxurious, and powerful Sierra 1500 lineup ever. The automaker has confirmed new V8 engines, a new look, and a class-leading display package, expected later this year. New GMC Sierra 1500 Power and Technology

GMC has confirmed two all-new V8 gas engines for the truck: a 5.7L and a 6.6L. According to GMC, the larger one is the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in its class. An available Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel and an enhanced TurboMax complete the announced engine lineup, with horsepower and torque figures still to come. Inside, GMC promises over 60 inches of combined digital displays, the most in the class. A 12.2-inch driver cluster, a 16.3-inch articulating center screen, and an 11.5-inch passenger screen ensure complete coverage. A MultiPro center console, available Bose head-restraint speakers, and an available panoramic sunroof headline changes to the cabin. New Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers also join the chassis, and the off-road AT4X will run standard 35-inch MT tires. We’re still gathering details on the new GMC Sierra 1500 trim levels, but as soon as we have more information for you, we’ll pass it along.

The 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 Release Date

GMC lists the 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 release date as late 2026, and they’re still holding pricing and trims close to the vest. We’ll publish a full research page when GMC releases more information about the new Sierra 1500.
